Summer Sun

Now summer is here,
children playing in the sun.
They run till the sun sets,
they can wait for tomorrow,
When the sun will rise.

Waterfall

The water falls through the air,

it hits the ground as loud as a snare.
.

The shape zig zags as if it was a maze,

the sheet of water is basically a glaze

at the top is when it deploys

then it acts like a decoy.      By Aaron

Spring

From the dead of winter to the elegant beauty of spring. The cold dry air to the warm moist weather. The trees come out with leaves again as the daises reach up for the sun’s warmth. The sky seems to get brighter. Everyone seems to be in a better mood. It's our little taste of heaven. The birds are chirping, the bees come buzzing from flower to flower looking for pollen. Spring in my eyes is a beautiful thing!    by Mario

Mountain of Faith

Looking out into the trees and animals
Lucy saw her whole life.
For the first time she saw
just how small she was in this whole world.

Climbing them relieved her,
of her stress, her nerves
It made her realize
that everything just might be
perfectly fine.

It gave her hope and faith,
let her know that she could follow
her desires.
She didn’t know why she quit
hiking these Mountains.
But it was good that know,

          she knew to never stop.

Seasons

I look up at the sky the bright shining sun glittering in the sky. The gentle breeze carries the leaves lightly across the dry grassland. The clouds move soullessly across the sky. The birds depart from there nest to the clouds. The land grows when it rains from the clouds drenching the land with life because now the land can grow. The spring brings back the life from winter all the seasons bring life in there own ways.
That is what the seasons do.    By Austin B

The Truth

Not many people know the true meaning of spring.
Most think that April showers bring May flowers.
Not everywhere in the world has that chance for flowers.
Every time I get up from sleeping, I look out the window and see bright colorful flowers.
Each flower is different, and stands out more than the other flowers.
The truth about spring is that its not about the Easter Bunny or going to the beach on spring break.
Spring is the true meaning of life in trees, and the ground.
Most do not notice the beauty of spring.
The Truth is, Spring is beautiful.   By Bobby

Freedom

As we paint colors on the walls of what we know, the colors underneath are covered up but never disappear. They leave their mark just like we do whether we know it or not. We as people are just like these colors because we are always changing and are never the same. So the mark that you leave matters.   By Matthew

Roses and Sugar

When the roses grow, the petals bloom,
A whiff of sweet sugar flows.
Covering the field, they fall down and roll in the sugar of sweet aroma,
The wind taking the smell, of feeling all so fresh, afar.
As the sugar falls, it acts as a seed blooming into a rose,
With a glistening coat of sweet sugar, bringing a whiff of happiness.
As the roses grow, so do the petals.
When the wind blows the sweet; sugar flies to me, picking a rose for the one I love.

A Barren Place - Creative Writing - Science Fiction

In a barren, dry place lives an alien named
Julia. She lives in the town of Nardor. She was
coming home from getting a laser shooter for her
brother. Her town in the tunnels was going to war
with the town of Dorf. This town was always in
war. Their leader wants to control the whole
world of tunnels.
Once Julia made it to her floating home, she
wanted to give her brother the present. This was
not just any laser shooter; it is the new Laser
Shooter 5000. This gun shoots many different
kinds of lasers. These many lasers were different
colors and were made for the other types of aliens
that lived in the world of tunnels. There was
even one for Nardor aliens. This weapon is the
best and will help him fight in the war.
Now, many of the towns were at war. The towns
of Nardor, Flipen, Tiner, and other smaller towns
were fighting against the town of Dorf. Julia’s
brother was very skilled fighter. He also had a
Laser Shooter 5000 that could kill all different
types of aliens. With his skills and the weapon
he was appointed to a General. He is a General for
Nardor Army.
The fighting went on for many weeks. The war
was very destructive. The Nardors, Flipens, the
Tiners and other towns finally defeated the Dorfs.
The winners were rejoicing. While they were celebrating
their victory, they heard a strange noise coming from the ceiling
of the tunnel. They used their weapons to blow a
hole in the ceiling. Once they did that, they
were able to find out what the noise was.
They saw many creatures getting out of their
UFO. The aliens would now have to join together
to make sure their planet was safe from these
creatures. Would their weapons work against these
strange creatures??    By K.

When I Open A Book

When I open a book full of thoughts and reason, I listen to each word
and ponder their meanings. The words combine to form one thought.
Each thought then pours out and forms a collective consciousness.
Which hides wisdom in each of its parts.
But to learn this wisdom you must open the book. By Nathan

Football

It was a long, hot,day in August and the first Auburn football practice; everyone was nervous. We just found out that we were having cuts from the team. Everyone was trying their hardest, but Coach P said 20 guys would have to be cut. As 8th graders we had to show the new players some of the drills. It was almost the end of practice and this first week was the fastest week of my life.
It was the third week of football when Coach said he needed me to play the defensive side of the line because he had no one else. I didn't know how to play that spot.  Not wanting to let my team down, I  still hesitated.  I was the smallest guy to play on the line. But my team-mate,  told me the key to playing on the line was to go hard and low.I had a fun time playing on the line this year and trying new because I knew it would help the team. Sadly, we didn’t have a winning season, but we learned a lot from our losses. That is how I had to cooperate with someone else.   By Dashawn

A Five Yearl Olds Day - memories poem

I wake up and say good morning to my sister Sandy.
I eat breakfast which is very handy and we go outside and play with a ball.
When we get tired then we fall.
After lunch I ride my ride my bike, and some times I take a hike.
My parent make me take a nap.
Sometime I cry and cry then fall asleep on my mommies lap.
When I wake up it's snack time yum, yum.
I then go over to see my friend Jacob.
We usually get in trouble for playing in his sisters makeup.
I come home and it's time for dinner, after dinner I take a bath.
I play with toys that make me laugh.
When I get out it's time for bed, my mommy lays with me and kisses my head.
When she leaves my room she says good night,
I love you honey,
sleep tight.   By Partick H

The Truth -

Part One: Beginnings

There are things humans don’t quite understand. One of those things is the origins of angels and demons. Humans have thought that demons were evil due to the forms that they take. They have always trusted angels because of there humanistic appearance. Now they see the truth.

A long time ago humans were the only highly intelligent life on earth. Then angels appeared. They tricked the humans into trusting them, saying they were sent by the one true god. Then as demons appeared they told the humans that these were entities of the devil. Most believed them. Demons quickly went into hiding. For years development in science and technology came close to stopping. One of the few scientists left, accidentally discovered the hiding place of some demons.

The demons didn’t attack him. They got him to listen to the story of where angels and demons come from. What they were before they are unsure of. What they do know is both come from the same beginning. They both were created at the same, but the angels were greedy and power hungry. They forced the demons to take hideous forms while they themselves took what they thought to be purer forms.

With this knowledge the Scientist began to create a resistance to fight the angels and help the demons. This is the story of that resistance. I am that scientist. We will take back human rule of the earth. We will show humans the true light.     By Jake H

Risk Taking - quick intro prewrite

When I was at my uncle’s wedding my family and I were swimming in the hotel pool. I was sitting on the ladder with my life vest. As I was kicking my legs in the water I thought what would happen if I took off my life vest? I slid into the pool just as my life jacket slipped off and I remember opening my eyes and trying to punch my mom’s leg so she could help me. She was frantic because she couldn't find me. My cousin Tracie noticed me and dove into the pool, and saved the day.  By Kimberly

Journal entry from Peter's Point of View - Diary of Anne Frank

Dear Diary,        It is the early morning of July 1942, and we are now awaiting the Franks to come to the Annex . Mother is very anxious and grows frustrated by the minute. Father tries to calm her but is of no use since mother is very stubborn and refuses to listen. He tells us that they are fine and on their way. I’m interested in meeting Mr. Frank, I’ve heard great things of him. Mr. Frank has a wife and two daughters and I have never met them before but, hopefully, this absurd plan to stay hidden may work, as insane as it may sound. I hope that no one is allergic to cats or fur since I have brought my cat, Mouschi, with me. I just hope that we are well hidden from the Green Police because if they are to ever find us then I am not sure what is to come upon us. Mother is in doubt but father says that things will turn out fine. Although we are fleeing from the Nazi’s, I feel that there may some good to come out of this. I am still not sure what to believe right now, I am only 16 years of age and still young. All of this is quite preposterous.     By Zeidi

A soldier's Journal

It’s now been four days since I’ve been out and still haven’t gotten any sign of help. For some reason I feel like I’m not alone, like someone else is here. There were foot tracks in the sand, they looked human. Now I’m running towards the forest- it’s only two hours to sunset and I have to find out who else is here. I shut my eyes and see a figure in front of me.

Alex

As I decided to head back I ran another loop around the forest, hoping
I would find him. Tonight I would find him, I must! As I finally retired for
the night I remembered that horrible day. My dad left one Wednesday
afternoon to go hunting. He promised that he would find a bear to bring
home and show me, because I had never seen one before. When my dad
didn’t get home on time my mom got worried so she went out to find him.
When my mom came home she had tears in her eyes. I asked my mom
where dad had been and she simply sent me to my room. I refused to go
until dad was home but she said that he wasn’t coming home. Mom said that
he had been killed by a bear that he had been hunting. The bear had seen
him before he had a chance to pull the trigger. As soon as my mom said the
last sentence I ran out the door to find the bear.
It wasn’t hard to find them; dad always left a trail of twigs so he wouldn’t
get lost. When I reached the end of the trail I saw what used to be my dad. I
looked away from him to see a bear staring back at me. I thought for sure I
would be the bear’s next victim but it simply blinked, yawned and turned the
other way. I swore I would find that bear one day and get rid of it. I named
the bear Alex after my father. Anyway, as I went into my cabin I found my
mom finishing up dinner. “Find anything today?” she asked. “No.” I replied
bluntly. I wasn’t hungry, so I went upstairs to go to bed. I changed into my
pajamas and stared out of my window. When I stared out of the window I
saw it. The bear, it was just outside the front door. I ran to get my musket
and went back to the window. As I loaded, and aimed I thought why the bear
must have done it. It was only in self defense. I lowered my weapon and
thought that my dad wouldn’t want me to do this, so I let him go. The bear
stared up at me and saw the gun. The bear turned right around and ran back
into the woods. “Good-bye, Alex,” I said as I climbed into bed.     By Connor

The Seasons Change

As fall ends, one leaf falls.
As winter reins, the trees are bare and cold.
As spring arrives, the trees dance in the wind.
Through the summer, leaves have grown, wind blows, and life has returned.
All too soon, the trees cry for it hurts to loose a part of itself,
And with winter on the way, the trees leave us behind into a slumber.
They still dance in the wind to show us that they are still there,
But not coming back till the spring wind blows.   By Kyle

The Beach

It's seven a.m., birds are quietly chirping, a light breeze blows through my windows ruffling the cream colored curtains while the faint sound of waves splashes below as the dolphins glide over top the ocean. The morning joggers are out on the darkened sand with their dogs at their sides. The beautiful white seagulls and large pelicans fly overhead calling out "good-morning" letting everyone know it is time to wake up and start the day. The relaxing smell of salt now fills my bedroom. My father sits on the balcony drinking his morning brew thinking about what the day entails. This time of morning is very calm and peaceful, and uninterrupted. There are so many things to do on vacation like this, but when the temperatures start to rise and the ice cream carts begin to go down the shore, you know it's time to hit the ocean!  By Anna

Flight

As I lift my wings and let the air dance between my feathers,
and let all fear be snuffed out by the overwhelming rush of courage
that brings me off my feet,
I jump and hope that by a stroke of luck I will become part of the sky.
A beast of the air that knows no human chains.
Then I have my wish and join the clouds in their eternal dancing among the stars.

Under the Sea - response to Jules Verne Google logo

Down here under there is a lot to learn. In the sea there is a lot to see every where you turn. Lots of colors and creatures all around. Fish swim around searching for food and go to their homes to rest. Pods of dolphins jump in the moon light. School of fish swim pass the glass window of the submarine. Here there is no poor or rich, there are no black or white segregation. Every day is a new journey,a new site to see. I dread the day we when I have to leave this wonderful place were there’s no problems that make the world separate. If only we could take after the fish and help make the world a better place for all of us to live in. By Tiffany S

The Devil's Beast - Part 2

 Pitch Black
But even then she knew I was lying. "Honey can you hand me the flashlight, so I can look around to find any kind of glass on the road?" She looked over at the glove compartment and then she opened it to hand me the flashlight. "Thank you honey. Ill be back in about ten minutes."

"Where are you going," my wife asked with a nervous tone in her voice? "I'm going to see if we ran over anything that was sharp on the way through." But ten minutes went by quickly and he'd already gone a half a mile up the road. After another two minutes went by, soon his wife started to get a little bit worried. So she picked up her cell phone to her husband but there was no signal.

As she got out the car she yelled for her husband. He took off running toward the car but stopped when something flew past him. For a few seconds he felt paralized because what he saw was heading straight toward his wife. When he got to the car it was already too late. The car was a wreck, the windows where shattered, but the worst part, his wife, dead... soon everything started to go pitch black and he fainted. By Stefan

There is no limit to the sea’s vast glory or the endless life that calls it home. The sun shines down and reflects off everything making the fish look like little reflections of life swimming through the world. It makes every little piece of sand look like the finest in all of the ocean. The whole scene looks like it came right out of a painting even though its all mother natures work. It’s unbelievable how there are so many people who have never come this deep to see the beauty that the sea beholds, and probably never will.  By Jed

Creative description from a picture

I lay there under the sea, lifeless, like I am in my own world. You get dangerously close to me and I have instinct to send a pain right through your body. The sun glistens through me, clear gluey outside. If you look closely you can see all of my veins you can see right through me. I move in the oceans currents. I look like a blob in the ocean and I am a very important sea life. The ocean that I live in is full of life. The color is bursting from every direction. It never gets cold as we always have the sun shining on us and the rays warm us. We are one nation, one body, under water. I learn about more and more neighbors that live around me. I am a big part of the ocean. I am a Jellyfish. By Hailey

Lightening

The vibrant neon strip of burning electricity lightens the sky during a big storm. The cold teardrops from the fluffy black clouds pitter- patter on my roof. Loud booms of thunder followed by the crack of lightning sends a cold chill down my spine. What really makes lightning burst its way through the sky? This question still remains unanswered in my mind.  By Jasmine

Down Deeper - inspiration from Jules Verne Google Logo

The boy wondered why the Captain came to the ocean. “Well boy, I've always had a passion for the ocean; all of the bright colors of the great coral and all of the life that no one has ever seen before and yet it’s like the whole world above us but hidden under a dark blanket of thick, heavy salt water,” said the Captain. I’ve never thought of the ocean like that, I have only thought of it as a big black pit with dangerous and creeping crawlers, ready to attack at any moment, like a rattlesnake ready to jump at its prey explained the boy.  The captain chuckled calmly and took it more as a joke than a serious statement. Oh no boy, in fact that is the complete opposite.  Cabin boy had a puzzled look on his face, he has never ever seen anything under the ocean and he never understood the beauty of the ocean just yet.
The old submarine started to descend to the bottom of the ocean as the cabin boy looked out the window to see the amazing ocean life that lay just under the surface of the crystal blue water. By Alex S.

The World

I see the plains, long lasting, never ending continuous.
I see the ocean, a deep blue, peaceful, and full of life
I see the sky, light blue, with splotches of white, quiet, calm.
The mountains, as high as they are, are never too high.
They are as high as the sky, and no taller.
I see the ground, so green, so refreshing, cold, and short.
I see the islands, covered in smooth sand, coconut trees, grass and domed volcanoes.
I see the sun every day and the moon every night.
I see people, walking, talking, laughing.
I see kids playing, and sharing.
I see families reunite, hugging and kissing.
I see dogs meeting cats, and flees meeting spiders.
I see love all around, no violence, no danger, no hatred.
I see war at end, and in the future,
I see enemies become allies.
I see hatred turn into love and violence to handshaking.
I see anger turn into happiness.
I see the eternal friendships.
Love was, is, and will always be there.
I see the world as beauty.
A place of love.
A world of no hate, only love.
I see the world as acceptance, no one is left out.
I see the world with satisfaction.
I see people living by the laws.
I see the world with eternal goodness.
No one else may see the world like this, but this is how my eyes see it.
I know for fact that I see the world, as home. By Kyle

Ocean - a reflection inspired by the Google Logo, Jules Verne

Down, deeper than ever. Above me, I look, seeing nothing but the dimness from the sun. I stay there feeling nothing but coldness and my own heartbeat. It feels as though I’m motionless, unable to have contact with the world and life as I know it. I stand there, anticipating something to happen. As though something might ruin the peace, like everything else in my life. Waiting for the thing that is perfect to me to either leave or hurt me as if I had hurt it, but at last I realize that the ocean isn’t a beast or monster but something that will heal instead of hurt. That may be the stillness of my body and and the frigidness of the water will help me to be at peace with myself because, at last, I have nothing to worry about. I close my eyes and breath, knowing that my breath will last longer than a lifetime, longer than time itself. By Ashley

What I See

It's interesting, what I see. Its almost a mystery. My eyes are clear like glass giving me the sight like no other. I see that under the heavenly Earth, there is a new one. It’s different and exciting, with creatures that have not been discovered and the movement of water creates a bond between man and sea. It’s just like the world above, there’s plants and animals, land and vegetation, life unknown. But for man to understand what is under, is not through scientific reasoning, not through mathematics, not even through logic. Man must expand their imagination to see what is true, not what is figured or proven. The sea is so big it will take more lifetimes than you can count to see every part but every part doesn’t have to be seen in order to make new discoveries. One small section by itself is full of excitement and joy that creates new discoveries and memories for you. What is already discovered and seen by man may not be seen by you. What you see and interpret is different than what others see and interpret. Its interesting that what I think is amazing or funny may not be to others. To go under water into the depths of the dark cold water into the vast unknown creates the thrill of observing; it’s not so important to discover a new marine/ aquatic animal or plant. What I see is as clear as crystal but may not be to you but just being under water, in the ocean is just an example of saying just a few words; what you see, forests, species of animals, valleys , and mountains, was created by God. When I said “But for man to understand what is under, is not through scientific reasoning, not through mathematics, not even through logic,” and “Man must expand their imagination to see what is true, not what is figured or proven,” I mean that all the science and math can be simplified into saying “God made the world, and everything in it.  By Kyle

The Devil's Beast - Part 1 - Creative Writing

Introduction
Hi. My name is Mike Kinler. I was a survivor of a war that happened in 2065. It wasn’t a war with other humans like World War 2; no, it was a war with a Beast. Critics said it was not from this world. But others who broke into some hidden government files from the FDA said the beast was made by some scientist who created it. The beast was created in the northern part of Virginia. Unfortunately, I was in that area at that time. By the time I heard about the beast was in my area. It was already too late.
My wife and I were just going to go visit her sister’s place when all the sudden our front tire of the car blew off. Immediately, my wife told me to go check on the tires. I pulled my car over and I got out of my car and when I got out I looked around me because it was pitch black outside. I asked my wife to hand me a flashlight from the compartment. She quickly handed it to me. Then she asked me, “Honey are you ok?”  Of course I said yes even though she knew I was lying. After I said that I quickly turned over towards my car and the popped tire. I stared at my tire real hard with my flashlight on it. It took me about five minutes to realize...
"My tires where slashed!" I said with  unspeakable horror. Then my wife spoke. "See if there is anything else than that. That would have caused this. Because there is no way that could happen."Then I spoke in reply to her comment."There are marks on the tire, that look like a lion cut it."I looked back at her and she looked back at me with a terrified face. For a brief minute I thought about what I said and I knew she became scared. Then I said to her in a nice way."It must be some glass or something on the road."She looked at me with a little less fear in her eyes."  by Stefan

A Tribute to Jules Verne - inspiration from the Google logo

As we immersed the ship into the sea, and succumb to its calling, we see the true majesty of nature beneath the waves. All nature’s loyal subjects were present, with fish of every color and sheen, and great beasts and monsters could all be seen. Beside us there were extravagant palaces and archways that were all colors and hews of which the subjects traversed daily. It was all completely tranquil with beauty unprecedented. No one above the waves could imagine the beauty and freedom that resides under the sea. All things that resided here was beyond understanding and above logic and reason, and was pure and glorious. No man ruled the wonders beneath the waves. by: Nathan
